Although they split up in 1988, Randhir Kapoor and Babita Kapoor, the parents of Bollywood celebrities Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor, never sought a divorce. Following that, Kareena and Karisma had been primarily raised by Babita. In a recent interview with Mojo Story, Kareena disclosed that her parents, who had been separated for years, have now chosen to live out their latter years together.

"Everyone's parents are the best parents in the world," Kareena said when discussing her unusual family. And I have the best parents in the entire world. Their old age will now be spent simply holding hands, since that is where their adventure began and where they are now.

Additionally, Kareena said, "That is something that has come a full circle for Karisma kapoor and me, which is absolutely, it's like a divine kind of intervention which has happened" to explain how she feels about Randhir and Babita's choice to remain together. On a personal level, I believe they have both been great, because my father has always backed me in anything I wanted to do in my life. They offered a great deal of support.

Kareena discussed how she and Karisma continued the Kapoor legacy, noting that her father, Randhir, also loved Babita for giving them the space to develop and use their performances to make a difference.

In 1971, Randhir wed Babita, an actress. When they first started out in the film industry, the couple met and fell in love while working together on movies like Kal Aaj Aur Kal. But their relationship was strained by disagreements over career options. As was typical at the time, Babita gave up acting after getting married. Babita left Randhir in 1988 and later relocated with her daughters. The pair never divorced, even though they have been living apart for many years. Despite their separation, Randhir and Babita maintained a friendly relationship and were frequently seen together at family gatherings and festivities, demonstrating mutual respect and love.

The upcoming flick starring Kareena Kapoor

Meghna Gulzar's movie Daayra will feature Kareena next. Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the main role in the movie as well. Sharing her enthusiasm for the project, Kareena said on Instagram, "As I celebrate 25 incredible years in Hindi cinema, I'm thrilled to announce my next film, Daayra, with the incredible Meghna Gulzar in the director's chair." Being directed by her is a dream come true, as I have long respected her work, from Talvar to Raazi.
