The filmmaker Karan Johar was a guest on Barkha Dutt's podcast, where he received an intriguing question about whether or not his WhatsApp conversations may be made into a movie. Karan Johar's reaction to the demand that his WhatsApp group messages be turned into a film was somewhat taken aback. He thought about the request and considered every aspect of his existence. The filmmaker's silence was deafening until he finally broke it by saying, "If anyone ever got access to those WhatsApp groups about me and many of my friends from the fraternity, we'll have to move to London." He went on to say that they would not be able to continue living in Mumbai, sharing, "There's complete honest, candid and sometimes very bitchy analysis of what's going on. On that group, we critique fashion, films, and everything else. We all have opinions, but none of us can ever express them. "Regrettably, that's our fundamental right—of freedom of speech—that we can only confine to our WhatsApp group and can never let it out," he says with a small chuckle. Those discussions are highly confidential.

The two collaborated on two films despite the breakdown in their relationship caused by Dostana 2. In the first film, which is titled Nagzilla, Kartik transforms into a snake, as the title indicates. The actor is currently engaged in their next collaborative picture, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. Kartik reunites with Ananya Panday, his co-star in Pati Patni Aur Woh, in the film.
