Karan Johar Reveals the Most Painful Remark He Faced as a Single Parent
5 months ago | 5 Views
In a recent interview, filmmaker Karan Johar recounted one of the most agonizing experiences of his life as a single parent. Karan is known for his candor and emotional vulnerability. He acknowledged that he was deeply affected by a remark that questioned his choice to raise his children without a mother, causing him to doubt the very basis of his parenting.
The most scathing remark that brought Karan to tears is revealed
In a conversation with Barkha Dutt for Mojo Story, Karan recalled being asked, "Do you realize that you have denied your children a mother?"
"That made me cry. Since it was the first time I ever doubted my choice to raise my children alone. I think I can be their entire world—their parent, mother, father, and grandparent. I have that love in me, but that statement made me wonder if I had made the correct decision," he stated.
Karan has frequently discussed how becoming a father to twins Yash and Roohi via surrogacy in 2017 transformed his life. Nevertheless, he began to question himself as a result of this remark. He then described the moment of vulnerability that followed.
I was in the middle of reading that statement that morning when I had a realization. I simply lost it. I wept while alone in my room. I entered their room and asked, "Are you happy?" They replied, "Yes, very happy, Dada." When I inquired as to why, they just responded, "Because you are our Dada."
