About Kap's Cafe shooting incident

According to the Surrey Police Service, many gunshots were heard outside Kap's Cafe in Surrey at 1:50 a.m. local time on July 10. Some of the staff were inside the restaurant when the incident occurred, according to the authorities. The event caused no injuries. According to the news agency ANI, one of the windows at Kap's Cafe had at least ten bullet holes, and another pane was broken.

It is unknown how many people reside in the structure, which has retail establishments on the ground floor and residential flats above. Other ground-level units are used for a multi-faith center and two more soon to launch enterprises.

The incident was described as "heartbreaking" by the employees of Kap's Cafe, who also expressed their "shock" at the unexpected shooting that occurred on the restaurant grounds. The cafe also expressed thanks to the whole community for all the emails they had gotten and gave the Surrey, British Columbia, police force their appreciation for their assistance with the matter.

Following the event, Kap's Cafe posted a lengthy and sincere message on Instagram. Titled "A Message From Heart," the cafe wrote, "We opened Kap's Cafe with hopes of bringing warmth, community, and joy through delicious coffee and friendly conversation. It is heartbreaking to see violence intersect with that dream. While we are still recovering from this shock, we are not giving up. The cafe stated that it will stand "firm" against the violence in order to maintain the establishment as a representation of "warmth and community" for its patrons.
