After a problematic performance marked by delays and audio issues, thousands of enraged Shanghai concertgoers called for refunds on Saturday night at the conclusion of Kanye West's debut live show in about a year. The fan also alleged that West spent most of the concert lip-syncing. “Mostly lip synching. His microphone must have been up less than 20 per cent of the time,” he posted, adding that West left the stage for over 20 minutes during the encore while tracks like “Wolves” played without him.

“For the encore, he disappeared for over 20 minutes at one point as tracks like Wolves just played out with him nowhere in sight. I could have just played your music at home man. Came to see u perform????” the fan further wrote.

Promoters cite weather, apologise for production failure

In response to the criticism, StellarAmberGroup, the event's organizer, issued a statement on Sina Weibo, China's well-known social media network. They blamed heavy rainfall for production challenges, stating that some images "could not be executed as planned," according to The New York Post. Additionally, the disturbance was apologized for by the promoter.

Kanye West's increasing difficulties are compounded by the lawsuit.

West faced severe legal accusations just days before the Shanghai performance. According to the outlet, the former assistant Lauren Pisciotta filed an amended complaint against the rapper alleging sexual assault, battery, stalking, and sex trafficking.

According to Piscotta, who served as West's personal assistant from 2021 to 2022, the majority of the misconduct took place during a business trip to San Francisco. According to The New York Post, which obtained court documents, she alleged that West barged in under the guise of using her shower, forcibly kissed her, masturbated while touching her, and then raped her in a hotel room.

Pisciotta, who was formerly a model on OnlyFans, claimed that the supposed assault left her paralyzed with fear. In a statement to Page Six, West's representative has refuted the charges.
