Kangna Ranaut, a former actor who turned politician, began her political career in 2024 after being elected to represent the BJP in the Himachal Pradesh constituency of Mandi. She has now confessed that she is still learning the ropes in politics and is not completely happy with her experience in the field.

About her political career, Kangana

In a podcast on the YouTube channel Atman in Ravi (AIR), Kangana discussed her political career. In March 2024, Kangana became a member of the BJP. Upon being approached with an offer, Kangana said that she decided to enter politics and give it a go.

"I'm getting a hang of it," Kangana replied when questioned whether she was enjoying herself. Politics is not something I would say I find pleasure in. It's more like social service than other jobs. My experience has not been this. I've never considered serving others.

"But that's different from my fight for women's rights... Someone's naali (drain) is broken, and I'm like, 'But I am an MP and these people are coming to me with panchayat-level problems'." They're not interested. They approach you with issues such MLAs and bad roads, and I tell them that's a state government matter, at which point they reply, "You have money, you use your own money," she continued.

Kangna responded that she doesn't believe she is qualified to hold the position of Prime Minister when asked if she ever wants to be one. This is due to the fact that her background has never been in social work. She described her life as having been "quite selfish."
