Just in case you missed it, Thug Life by Mani Ratnam was outlawed in Karnataka because to Kamal Haasan's assertion that "Kannada is born from Tamil" and his refusal to apologize for it on the grounds that it was "made out of love." Nonetheless, the actor's supporters are still determined, and they have turned to social media to express their willingness to go 42 kilometers in order to see his most recent picture.

Fans of Kamal Haasan who are willing to travel to see Thug Life

On Thursday, when Thug Life was released, social media was inundated with images and videos of supporters rejoicing in front of theaters and posting their opinions of the movie. Videos of supporters setting off fireworks in front of a single-screen cinema in Hosur were posted by one Twitter user, formerly known as X. “Thuglife is banned in Karnataka, but no one can stop our love for Kamal Haasan. All the fans in Bangalore are gathered here in Hosur!” they wrote as they traveled to the theater in Tamil Nadu to see the movie.

Additionally, several Kamal supporters questioned on Reddit whether Tamil people would be upset if they visited Hosur in order to see the movie. A Redditor from Bengaluru said, "Huge Kamal Haasan fan here." Is it safe to ride a bike to Hosur tomorrow in order to see THUG LIFE? Please don't be offended... I simply don't want my car's tire to be punctured or the body of my car to be scratched. Another person responded that Hosur should be secure because it has a large number of KA-registered cars, just like Bengaluru has a large number of TN-registered cars. Additionally, other Redditors provided the Redditor with assurance that it would be safe.

The disagreement over the Kannada language

The fact that Thug Life is Mani and Kamal's debut film in over forty years, following the 1987 picture Nayakan, seems to have been overshadowed by the actor's remark during a promotional trip in Karnataka. The Karnataka High Court summoned the actor on Tuesday for failing to apologize during a hearing on a petition requesting protection for the film's release in the state. The judge asked if the actor was a historian or a linguist and said that ‘one apology’ might have ‘resolved the situation’.

Kamal, Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Rohit Saraf, and Baburaj are the stars of Thug Life.
