There have been rumors that Kajal Aggarwal, who recently played goddess Parvathi in Vishnu Manchu's Kannappa, will star in the Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash-directed Ramayana. Up until now, Kajal has neither confirmed nor denied this. Kajal finally put an end to all the conjecture about her role in the two-part magnum opus by posting on social media hours after the title reveal, which featured fleeting glimpses of Ranbir as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana.

Kajal to be paired with Yash?

According to rumors, Kajal is portraying Mandodari, Ravana's queen consort, a devout and righteous woman who constantly urged Ravana to bring Sita back to Ram. According to the Ramayana, Mandodari, the daughter of Mayasura, the king of asuras, adored and was devoted to Ravana. Assuming that Kajal is actually portraying Mandodari, this would be the first time that she and Rocking Star Yash have ever shared the screen.

In the meantime, just the names Ranbir as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Yash as Ravan, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman were mentioned in the headline glimpse. The film's massive cast also includes Rakul Preet (Surpanakha), Lara Dutta (Kaikeyi), Kunal Kapoor (Lord Indra), Vivek Oberoi (Vidyutjiva), and Sheeba Chadha (Manthara), among others, according to reports. The music is the creation of AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, while Namit Malhotra, who is listed as the producer, is also listed as the author along with Sridhar Raghavan.
