Jr NTR’s Emotional Appeal for Respect at Kota Srinivasa Rao’s Funeral

After he scolded his own followers at the funeral of Kota Srinivasa Rao on Sunday, Telugu actor Jr NTR gained the love and admiration of the internet. Following the burial, the actor was speaking to the media and honoring the late acting star when his supporters started chanting his name. After leaving the podium, NTR returned to set the record straight.

The funeral video, which has become popular on social media, shows NTR speaking to the assembled media about Kota Srinivasa Rao's legacy and contribution to Telugu film. "Let's celebrate the legacy he left behind through his unforgettable performances, across all our mediums, without sorrow," he said in Telugu. After completing his speech and turning around, a handful of supporters (who had gathered off camera) started cheering 'Jai NTR' (Hail NTR). When NTR heard this, he turned around and returned. "No, Jai Kota Srinivasa Rao!" he exclaimed, pointing a finger at the audience.
Others in attendance applauded the RRR star's action, while the audience chanted NTR's mantra. In reaction to the video, someone tweeted, "What a gesture of respect." "The fans are foolish, but the star is respectful," someone else said. The fans were also criticized by several other people for making things uncomfortable for the performer. "What is this fan base? One of them said, "So foolish."

The demise of Srinivasa Rao Kota
Kota Srinivasa Rao, a seasoned Telugu actor and former BJP legislator, who was well-known for his well-received performances, passed away on Sunday in Hyderabad at the age of 86 from age-related illnesses. Rao appeared in around 750 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi during his career, which lasted for about five decades. At the time of his death, he was 83. With Pranam Khareedu, which was also Chiranjeevi's debut picture, he made his debut in 1978.
Throughout his career, he has appeared in a number of well-known and popular films, such as Pratighatana, Satruvu, Ahana Pellanta, Hello Brother, Money, Siva, and Gaayam. His most notable part in a Hindi movie was opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Ram Gopal Varma's film.
Rao, a Padma Shri recipient, represented the Vijayawada East assembly seat in Andhra Pradesh as a BJP MLA from 1999 to 2004. Tributes to his passing came from Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in addition to the film industry.
