"Well, right now, it'd be Cole Trickle, who was [Cruise's] 'Days of Thunder' character," Kosinski said about his potential pitch for the upcoming box-office smash. As reported by GQ, he and Sonny Hayes, played by Brad Pitt, have a history.

"They were competitors at one point, maybe crossed paths," Kosinski continued, mentioning a tale about Brad and Tom that is currently going viral. "I heard about this epic go-kart battle between Brad and Tom on 'Interview With a Vampire,' and who wouldn't pay to see those two go head-to-head on the track?"

With Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt as co-stars, Joseph Kosinski formerly attempted to produce a film.

Joseph Kosinski also disclosed that he had previously attempted to reunite Pitt and Cruise in a different racing picture. He intended to portray them in his own rendition of Ford v Ferrari. "Yeah, I got close with that," Kosinski responded.

The studio rejected the funding, even though the performers were prepared to drive themselves. Christian Bale and Matt Damon played the main roles in James Mangold's Ford v Ferrari, however.
