John Goodman's journey to fitness

Although many fans have praised John Goodman for his transformation, they have also questioned how the performer was able to achieve such a significant shift, particularly at this point in his life. It's important to remember that Goodman didn't begin his fitness path until he was in his late 60s. When Goodman wanted to lose weight, he hired Mackie Shilstone, a personal trainer, according to the New York Post. The first thing he did to alter his lifestyle was to quit drinking.

In addition to beginning a consistent workout regimen, the performer also made a number of dietary modifications, switching to a lighter Mediterranean diet. Even though he's in his 70s, John Goodman seldom misses a workout. His workout regimen includes cardio, such as using a treadmill and elliptical bike, as well as walking 10,000 to 12,000 steps daily.

"I'd have a handful of food and it would go to my mouth," the actor told ABC when discussing his fitness journey. All I ever did was eat. I was merely consuming alcohol. I used to take three months off, drop 60 or 70 pounds, and then treat myself to a six-pack of Bud or whatever before resuming my former lifestyle. This time, I wanted to take it easy, go, and exercise. I'm reaching the point in my life where I can no longer afford to remain inactive. Additionally, since work is so exhausting, it provides me the strength to do it.
