In his interviews, filmmaker Karan Johar has frequently discussed his great affection for Shah Rukh Khan, whom he sees as his best friend in the industry and an elder brother. Karan discussed his familial connection with SRK's family and lauded Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan, saying that he hopes his own children, Yash Johar and Roohi Johar, will grow up to be like them.

In addition to crediting Shah Rukh Khan and filmmaker Aditya Chopra for molding his life and career, Karan admitted that they are both his gurus. He claimed that he owes them everything. He also stated that he will always think of himself as Shah Rukh's younger brother and Aditya's helper.

According to Karan Johar, Aryan Khan is like his firstborn.

Karan continued by saying, "I don't know... Shah Rukh, Gauri, Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam are my family." I mean it, they are my family. In many respects, Aryan is my firstborn. I can't sing to save my life, yet I recall holding Aryan in my arms and strolling through a London park while singing him a song. However, I remember that song, and he does. As a result, I am amazed when I see him leading a series of events today. Seeing Suhana prepare for King leaves me speechless.

Karan Johar hopes that Yash and Roohi will be similar to Aryan and Suhana.

"Because I'm like, look at these kids - how they've worked on themselves to become the talents they want to be," he continued. In order to develop their own identities and surpass their father's unattainable legacy. They are so eager to succeed, in my opinion. Seeing them makes me happy. As individuals, I want Yash and Roohi to grow up to be like Aryan and Suhana. The kind of strong people that Gauri and SRK have reared them to be. Those pure hearts. They are simply good kids—well-behaved, well-brought up, industrious, but eager to succeed—which is a combination that is hard to come by.

Additionally, Karan stated that Aryan and Suhana are both conscious of their advantage, but they have never made use of it. He said they were the "simplest youngsters," pointing out that despite Shah Rukh's indulgence, they had never requested anything further. He gave Gauri Khan credit for doing such a fantastic job raising them, and he thanked both Aryan and Suhana for forging their own way in the world.

Aryan Khan will soon direct his first film, Ba***ds of Bollywood, for Netflix, while Suhana made her acting debut last year in Zoya Akhtar's The Archies. Despite the criticism of the movie and her acting, Suhana is now working on her next major endeavor, King, in which she co-stars alongside her father Shah Rukh Khan. According to reports, the film, which is presently in production, stars Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, and Abhay Verma and is directed by Siddharth Anand.
