In the wake of Shefali Jariwala's unexpected passing, actor Varun Dhawan urged the paparazzi to be respectful and discreet of her family during their time of sorrow. His appeal is now supported by Janhvi Kapoor, his co-star in Bawaal.
Varun's appeal has Janhvi Kapoor's support
Varun used Instagram on Sunday to urge the media to exercise caution when reporting on the passing of a famous person.
“Once again, another soul passing is being covered by the media in a callous manner. I simply cannot fathom why it is necessary to mask someone's sorrow. Everyone seems so uneasy about this. My plea to my friends in the media is that this is not how anyone would want their last trip reported, and that this is not in anyone's best interest.
The actor's message followed Shefali's passing, even though Varun did not specifically mention anybody in his post. Janhvi used Instagram to express her support for his message as well.
Varun urged the media to exercise greater sensitivity during times of grief in his letter, saying that this is not how one would like their final voyage to be reported. Varun's message was also supported by Janhvi Kapoor.
On her Instagram Stories, where Varun pleaded with the media to respect families' privacy and give them space during periods of sorrow, Janhvi shared his appeal.
In addition to his plea for respectful coverage, Janhvi's article stated, "Finally someone said it."
