An epic match is going on between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata right now! Asia’s most-followers Instagrammer, batsman Virat Kohli is playing for RCB while Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is ‘virtually’ supporting KKR. During this IPL 2024 match, Virat Kohli has just now been involved in a controversial decision that left the former RCB captain visibly upset. To add to the drama, Virat's wife, actress Anushka Sharma, took to Instagram to share a cryptic message, leading to even more speculation.

Anushka Sharma drops an Instagram Story

Minutes after Virat fumingly exited the cricket field after being dismissed by the third umpire, Anushka Sharma dropped an Instagram Story. In the Story, she attached an old video from 2016 featuring American actor Jim Carrey's Golden Globes speech. In the speech, Carrey had said, “You know, when I go to sleep at night, I'm not just a guy going to sleep. I'm two-time Golden Globe winner Jim Carrey going to get some well-needed shut-eye.” In a witty remark aimed at Hollywood, he humorously questioned the significance of winning an award.

Although this speech has no connection with the ongoing IPL match, the timing of Sharma’s Instagram Story has surely sparked a debate online.

A few social media users feel that Virat Kohli’s dismissal in the ongoing IPL match was unfair and Anushka Sharma agrees with it too.

Anushka, for the unfamiliar, is not watching the match live in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. She is in Mumbai and spending quality time with her family. Virat and Anushka have been blessed with two kids namely Vamika (3 years old) and Akaay (2 months old).

What’s going on in the match?

Earlier in the day, Virat Kohli teased the Eden Gardens crowd by playfully expressing that he is ready to be a bowler for the match today. Not only this, but he tried to copy Allu Arjun’s hand movements from the star’s iconic movie, Pushpa: The Rise – with which Virat tried to funnily convey that he and his team were ready to play against KKR in the match.
