Soon after, the internet criticized the explanation, branding it a "bad clarification." The quote was shared on Instagram by a media outlet, and in response to the post, Honey Singh wrote, "Genius," which seems to be making fun of his competitor's explanation. The sarcasm was picked up by the fans, one of whom said, "Paaji using sarcasm," and another of whom said, "Paaji tussi great ho," along with laughing emoticons from others.

Alongside Ikka, Lil Golu, and Raftaar, Honey and Badshah were formerly members of the rap ensemble Mafia Mundeer. The two have frequently made oblique (and occasionally explicit) swipes at one another in interviews and on social media since their breakup following a public argument.

Badshah stated at a show in Dehradun in 2024 that he wanted to bring the long-running rivalry to an end, saying, "There was a phase in my life when I held a grudge against one person, and now I want to call it quits and leave that behind – and that’s Honey Singh. Due to a misunderstanding, I was unhappy, but I came to see that when we were together, there were significantly fewer people attempting to unite us than there were people attempting to separate us. I simply want to let everyone know that I've moved on and wish him the best in his endeavors.

Nevertheless, it seems that Honey is not yet in a position to bury the hatchet, since he just made another veiled swipe at Badshah at a recent show on his Millionaire tour. From a career perspective, Honey Singh's most recent songs, "Laal Pari" from Housefull 5 and "Money Money" from Raid 2, have topped the charts. Badshah, on the other hand, astonished his audience in his most recent song, Galiyon Ke Ghalib, by showcasing his dancing skills.
