Genelia Deshmukh considers the bilingual Kannada-Telugu picture Junior to be a unique production. First of all, it marks her return to Telugu cinema after 13 years and is her first Kannada picture since 2008's Satya in Love. The return to South Indian movies, however, is more significant since it features her in a completely different light and in a role that she has never played before.

From the trailer, Genelia seems to be portraying a formidable business executive, who also has some history with the protagonist, Kireeti Reddy, and his family, though she is not free to share details about her role. Although the movie's central plot revolves around the relationship between Kireeti and his father, V Ravichandran, Genelia and the other supporting performers contribute to the story to varying degrees.

There is nothing better for an actor than when a production company or a director sees them differently. With this part, I have practically been given a new lease of life in the film business, which is a significant opportunity, especially since it marks my return to South Indian films after 13 years..

Junior is a very special film to Genelia, she says, because it shows her in a different light and because every member of the cast and crew put a lot of love, enthusiasm, and hard work into it. She goes on to say, "Everyone was trying to make a difference."
