Zayed Khan, a Bollywood actor and the son of renowned actor-director Sanjay Khan, has just discussed a challenging time in his family's history. Zayed remembered during his chat with Siddharth Kannan that a huge fire on his father's live event had caused Sanjay to suffer third-degree burns and had also plunged the family into a financial crisis. He disclosed that in order to deal with the circumstance at that time, they had to mortgage their home.

Zayed remembers his family experiencing financial difficulties.

Zayed recounted the family's financial hardships after a fire broke out on the set of his father's show, The Sword of Tipu Sultan, and stated that his mother is like 'God' to him. He stated, "At that time, during Tipu Sultan, my father had a fire accident." Seeing my mother and sisters during that time deeply affected me, and there was a lot of turmoil at home. At that time, the family was very financially strapped. There was no insurance at the time, and many individuals perished in the fire. I witnessed a great deal of suffering in my mother and sisters as well as in how they stepped up to assist my father.

Zayed Khan claims that they sold automobiles and mortgaged their residence.

He also disclosed if the family had to make sacrifices to their way of life because of the financial strain, saying, "Like take autos, sell cars and get into taxis — yes." Our home was mortgaged, and a lot more. In situations like that, you really discover who your friends are. As soon as we escaped the circumstance, we got superior automobiles once more.

He also remembered recommending that his parents send him to a boarding school because his mother was already responsible for so many others. He also recalled the accomplishment he felt when he gave his mother his first paycheck from his inaugural movie.

A fire broke out on the set of Sanjay Khan's television program The Sword of Tipu Sultan in 1989 while he was filming it. Fifty-two crew members perished as a result of the lack of firefighting gear. After sustaining third-degree burns, the 78-year-old actor and director had 74 operations. Nonetheless, after he recovered, he finished filming the program.

Meanwhile, Zayed starred in Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne in 2003, but he became well-known for his performance in the smash hit Main Hoon Na alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Zayed, who was recognized for his charming screen presence, appeared in movies like Yuvvraaj, Fight Club, Shabd, and Dus. However, he quickly experienced a career slowdown and left the movie industry to concentrate on his family. The actor announced his intentions to resume acting in 2023, but he provided little information about his comeback film.
