Fatima Sana Shaikh, an actress, claims that she was physically attacked after she confronted a man who had touched her inappropriately in front of others. She acknowledges that the trauma has had a long-lasting effect on her, and that its consequences are still there.

Fatima discussed how to deal with commonplace sexism in the most recent episode of The Male Feminist on Hauterrfly.

"Once, a man touched me inappropriately, and I hit him," she remembered during the discussion, describing a frightening case of harassment. However, I was completely knocked out by the force of his return blow. He struck me to the point that I fell, but I only hit him because he touched me.

The incident served as a wake-up call for Fatima and altered her as a person. Following that event, I became a bit more wary, she said. I understood that we must also see how we would respond in similar circumstances. The irony, however, is that there is something amiss with us, and all we can do is consider how to respond to it.

She also remembered another incident during the COVID-19 outbreak when she was subjected to harassment during lockdown. While donning a mask and riding my bike in Mumbai, the Dangal performer was being followed by a tempo truck that was making odd noises and honking at me. He followed her until she switched lanes, she said.

In recent weeks, Fatima has been seen in the OTT world as well as on the big screen. She starred in Metro In Dino, a spiritual continuation of Life in a... Metro directed by Anurag Basu. She co-stars with actor Ali Fazal in the film. The movie was a hit at the box office and got favorable reviews from critics. She was also in Aap Jaisa Koi with R. Madhavan.
