A conservatorship is a judicial arrangement in which a judge selects someone to handle the personal and/or financial matters of a person who is deemed unable to do so on their own. This is sometimes utilized for those with extreme mental illness or older adults with dementia. The designated conservator has a lot of authority over the conservatee's choices. Conservatorships, which are intended to provide protection, can become divisive, particularly in high-profile cases involving celebrities like Britney Spears, if the conservatee believes they have lost their independence or if the conservator misuses their authority.

What about the Biebers, though? "Considering Justin Bieber's recent conduct is as concerning as claimed amid erratic social media postings, obvious signs of impairment, and hints of emotional instability and isolation, then YES, a conservatorship might be considered," Jamie Wright, a legal specialist, told The U.S. Sun. "As a seasoned attorney, I'll say this bluntly."

According to the attorney, conservatorships are viewed as a last resort and are sometimes referred to as a "legal nuclear option." In California, if an adult is deemed unable to manage their own financial or personal matters, a judge may appoint someone to do so. Social media conduct alone does not initiate the process, which requires compelling medical proof. Both judges and the public are now much more wary about giving such authorities since Britney Spears' well-known case, which revealed significant problems.

Hailey or his mother, Pattie, must demonstrate that Justin is dangerous, unfit, or unable to handle his finances in order to move forward with the case.
