She asked Kashyap if he thought he was more intelligent and cooler for using the term "dumb" to describe someone else and then said, "Darling, how about gracious!!! and self-aware?????? An art that a lot of artists don’t have!" The producer also defended the 'saas-bahu' remark by noting that Indian plays gave Indian women a voice. She attributed the same to Chicago research and said, "But artists who talk of an inclusive world are actually more classist. We must do away with this 'U can't sit with us, we're better' attitude for democracy and fair play! Love n light to all (sic)."

Kashyap, the director of Sacred Games, retorted that the Netflix co-CEO should have begun with saas bahu after Sarandos' remarks about the show went viral. Kashyap concluded his tweet by calling Sarandos "the definition of dumb" and simply writing, "Good to discover that." Now it all makes sense.

The entire thing started with the remark made about Sacred Games, which stars Costao's Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Go Goa Gone's Saif Ali Khan in the key roles. Sarandos said in a recent podcast that he would have liked to see Sacred Games released in India a few years later. He expressed enthusiasm for the continually growing market, but predicted that the Indian market would be slower. Kashyap didn't like the Sacred Games remark, which sparked a fresh debate.
