Dil Raju Sets the Record Straight as Shirish Apologises Over Ram Charan Call Controversy After Game Changer Flop
5 months ago | 5 Views
Even if it was six months after the release of Shankar's Ram Charan, SJ Suryah, and Kiara Advani-starring film Game Changer, which was a flop, it's still the only topic of conversation. Because of some remarks made by the latter in a recent interview, the producers Dil Raju and Shirish are currently under fire from Mega enthusiasts. Both of them made clarifications.
Shirish apologizes to Mega supporters
After Game Changer, Shirish told Great Andhra that he believed their "lives were over," adding that he was grateful that the Venkatesh-starrer Sankranthiki Vasthunam came to the rescue. In the interview, he also stated that neither Shankar nor Ram gave them a call after the movie flopped at the box office. The notion that the actor had to contact the producers enraged Chiranjeevi and Ram's followers.
"It is known that the words I spoke in an interview led to a misunderstanding on social media, and Mega fans were hurt by it," Shirish said in a press statement, apologizing and referring to the incident as a 'misunderstanding.' He wrote in Telugu, "It is known that the words I spoke in an interview led to a misunderstanding on social media, and Mega fans were hurt by it." For the movie Game Changer, Ram Charan, a global celebrity, dedicated his entire time and support. For several years, we have maintained a close relationship with Megastar Chiranjeevi garu's family. Our words don't disparage the names of Ram Charan garu, Chiranjeevi garu, and other Mega heroes. Please forgive me if anything I said has offended someone.
Dil Raju clarifies and defends Shirish's remarks
In an interview with 10 TV, Dil Raju, Shirish's brother, defended him, stating that it was just a misunderstanding. Raju claimed that he was more involved in the production of Game Changer, while Shirish was responsible for Sankranthiki Vasthunam. He added that he never blamed Charan, noting that the delays caused by Indian 2 and ‘lacking wavelength’ with Shankar were negligible.
"Charan maintained composure throughout. However, I'm sure he must have felt terrible when Vasthunam's Sankranthi was a success. No matter how long it took, he refused to make other movies out of respect for Shankar. Recently, Shirish gave his first interview; he is not often talkative. In the context of Sankranthiki Vasthunam, he spoke about it with passion. Because without the picture, we would have experienced hardship. But his aim was not mistaken. Charan and Shirish are close. The error occurred because he lacks media experience, Raju asserted.
Game Changer had a big budget and was released this Sankranthi along with Venkatesh's Sankranthiki Vasthunam and Balakrishna's Daaku Maharaaj. Sacnilk reports that Game Changer earned ₹186.25 crore globally, while Sankranthiki Vasthunam made ₹255.2 crore despite having a lower budget. Daaku Maharaaj also brought in ₹125.8 crore, making it Balakrishna's second-highest-grossing film after Akhanda.
