One of the most eagerly awaited movies of the year was the political action thriller Game Changer starring Shankar and Ram Charan. But it was a box office flop that didn't win over audiences. In an interview with M9 News, the film's producer, Dil Raju, stated that making Game Changer was a "wrong step," following earlier comments by the film's editor, Shameer Muhammed, who was unhappy about working with director Shankar.

Raju regrets making Game Changer

In a previous interview, Shameer had disclosed that the movie Game Changer had a runtime of 7 to 7.5 hours during the editing process, which he shortened to 4.5 hours, but a different editor subsequently cut it to 2.5 to 3 hours. In response to Shameer's remarks, Dil Raju replied, "There are going to be 100% problems when creating huge films with great directors—not just for me, but for almost everyone." The editor's assertion that Game Changer formerly ran for four and a half hours is accurate, and it's expected that there will be such interruptions when dealing with well-known directors."

Additionally, he confessed his error in failing to sign a valid contract while working with a well-known director like Shankar, stating that "it's a producer's responsibility is to stop it when something goes wrong but I couldn't stop it." That's my mistake. I must come to terms with the fact that I should not have accepted such work. Throughout my film career, I had never collaborated with such well-known filmmakers. My first mistake was changing the game. I should have explicitly stated my arguments in the contract and switched to production, but I did not. I'm taking it in stride and moving on since it was my first blunder. In addition, Dil Raju confessed that he regretted his choice to make the movie.

Concerning the Game Changer

Directed by S. Shankar, the political action thriller starred Ram Charan in two roles, as well as Kiara Advani, Anjali, S. J. Suryah, Srikanth, Sunil, Jayaram, and Samuthirakani in important roles. Reportedly produced for a budget of ₹400 crore, the movie received a mixed to unfavorable reception from viewers and reviewers, grossing just ₹186.25 crore at the box office worldwide. Prime Video now offers viewing access.
