Diana Penty, an actress, recently shared how she was catcalled on the local train on her way to university. In an interview with Hauterrfly, the actor described how she used to get elbowed on her way to work and how she was formerly body-shamed for being too thin.

Diana responded, "I think every girl in Bombay has gone through this," when asked if she had ever been touched inappropriately while riding a bus or being around people. I used to go to St. Xavier's by taking the train—the central line from Byculla to VT—and then walk to college. People attempt to elbow you, and there is catcalling. It became commonplace. I was a really awkward, shy, self-conscious, and unconfident young woman. I'd retreat into my shell, which would make me feel terrified. I lacked the guts to push back.

Additionally, Diana recalled that she was thin and subjected to body-shaming from her early childhood until approximately six or seven years ago. "It scarred me. If people continually tell you, "Oh, you're so thin, you don't eat?" you're a kid. In addition, some aunts would approach my mother and say this. When she was younger, she would get so annoyed, as if I wasn't feeding my kid. You begin to become aware that you are too thin as a child. It was horrible."

She disclosed that her mother once brought her to a pediatric dietician, who recommended giving Diana six bananas a day—though she only managed four—but that nothing had changed. Diana disclosed that she has worked her entire life to gain weight and avoid being so thin. She remembered that in the past, she would layer her clothing in order to fit in with others and that she would avoid wearing sleeveless attire.

The movie is available to stream on ZEE5. Her upcoming film, Section 84, which also features Amitabh Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles, will be released soon. The movie's release date has not been revealed.
