Kannada actor Dheekshith Shetty is literally on cloud nine following the immense praise coming his way for the first single from his upcoming Telugu film The Girlfriend. The song, Nadhive, composed and sung by Hesham Abdul Wahab, features Dheekshith and Rashmika Mandanna in a contemporary choreography, shot on a specially-created set. Released in 5 languages, the song has over 12 million views cumulatively, with audiences highly appreciative of the effort both actors took to perform a dance form that’s new to them and involves a lot of synchronized jumps, lifts, etc.

Dheekshith has now posted behind-the-scenes footage from the song's production, which shows the performers bound by ropes and defying gravity, due to his intense passion for the song. Among other things, what one may have assumed to be a cunning camera trick to create the impression that the actors were moving along 90-degree slopes was actually the actors being hung by ropes and maintaining that illusion.

Given that even the smallest error on Dheekshith's part during jumps and lifts may have had catastrophic repercussions, he gave Rashmika a heartfelt thank you for the faith she had in him throughout the entire choreography. Dheekshith struggled to grasp contemporary dance. In a social media message, he said, "To my amazing co-star, @rashmika_mandanna, thank you for entrusting me with your life...literally, hanging in the air with no floor beneath you!" It was difficult, but you handled it with such poise. For a reason, you are a STAR and a complete role model!

This video version was made exclusively for promotional reasons and is not included in the movie's soundtrack. Furthermore, the song's reception suggests that the gamble paid off handsomely! Dheekshith previously told OTTplay that, during his time on Dance Karnataka Dance a few years ago, he had tried the sorts of lifts and jumps that are seen in modern dance, but that the level and intensity of the moves in Nadhive were a first for him, as was filming a song on a set.
