David Byrne is once again in the game. In an Instagram post, the renowned lead singer of Talking Heads just revealed his forthcoming album, Who Is The Sky? According to reports, the album will have 12 tracks and represent his first solo effort in seven years. Matador Records is scheduled to release it on September 5. In addition to announcing the release of the album, Byrne also unveiled a large tour that will bring him to the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom, and Oceania.

Ghost Train Orchestra, a New York–based chamber ensemble, created the album. Speaking about the upcoming tour, the artist said that "mobility" will be a crucial component, similar to his American Utopia tour and Broadway performance. This time, the tour will be centered around particular places rather than a chain-like structure.

“I just finished a new album titled “Who Is The Sky?” recently. Kid Harpoon creates it, along with the Ghost Train Orchestra and, on a few tracks, my pals Hayley Williams and St. Vincent. David Byrne shared details about his record, stating that it would be released under Matador, a new label for him, on September 5.

“I will start rehearsing soon for a tour that begins in September,” the musician said. The idea behind the tour is unique to anything I've ever done. We'll maintain the mobility that was a crucial component of the American Utopia tour and Broadway performance—but with sites rather than the chain. To understand what that entails, you will have to come and see for yourself. Tour tickets will be available for purchase on June 13.
