Darsheel Safary, who played Ishaan Awasthi in Taare Zameen Par, has discussed his absence from Aamir Khan's upcoming movie Sitaare Zameen Par. In an interview with News18, Darsheel said that there "might have been days" when he thought it would be "cool" to be in the RS Prasanna-directed film. In Taare Zameen Par, he referred to himself as a "zariya (medium)."

When Darsheel Safary expressed his interest in joining Sitaare Zameen Par, he discussed it. "It's a natural emotion to be possessive," he said, "so there might have been days when I thought, 'It'd have been cool if I was a part of Sitaare Zameen Par.'" However, when viewed from a larger perspective, you are providing the finest product in the most organic and natural manner. It simply doesn't fit if it doesn't.

Additionally, he discussed his experience with Taare Zameen Par. “I have always known that Taare Zameen Par is not about me… I was just a medium. All of the characters in Taare Zameen Par were mediums. It was never mine. Since their decisions matter and the audience should have fun, Aamir sir must have been thinking that while producing the movie. I'm fine with the fact that I wasn't a part of Sitaare Zameen Par. I simply count myself fortunate to be a part of that legacy.

Aamir was the writer and director of the 2007 movie. In addition to Aamir and Darsheel, the cast also included Vipin Sharma, Tanay Chheda, and Tisca Chopra.

In India, the movie Sitaare Zameen Par, which debuted in cinemas on Friday, has been a success. In addition to Aparna Purohit and Ravi Bhagchandka, Aamir is also producing the film.
