In Hyderabad on Sunday, veteran Telugu actor and former BJP MLA Kota Srinivasa Rao passed away from age-related illnesses. Rao passed away at his home in the early hours of the morning, as reported by film industry insiders. He was 83 years old and had been ill for a number of years.

The actor was also honored by megastar Chiranjeevi at his funeral. He placed a wreath of crimson roses over Rao's earthly remains. Additionally, he paid homage to his likeness by bowing his head in front of it and introduced himself to the actor's family and friends.

Earlier, even actor Prakash Raj visited the actor's family at his home, where the media surrounded him as he left in his automobile.

About Kota Srinivasa Rao

Srinivasa Rao starred in over 750 movies during his prolific career, which lasted more than forty years. With the 1978 movie Pranam Khareedu, he made his debut, which also signaled the start of Chiranjeevi's career as a well-known actor. His most well-known works include Pratighatana, Satruvu, Ahana Pellanta, Hello Brother, Money, and Ram Gopal Varma's Siva and Gaayam.

Between 1999 and 2004, Srinivasa Rao, a Padma Shri awardee, also represented Andhra Pradesh's Vijayawada East assembly seat as a BJP legislator.

Numerous politicians expressed their condolences for his death, including Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.

His home was also visited by former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao, and Andhra BJP chief PVN Madhav to pay their respects.

Chiranjeevi, Jr NTR, producer D Suresh Babu, veteran actor Murali Mohan, and others in the film business offered their condolences.

After Srinivasa Rao's younger brother, the actor Kota Sankar Rao, arrives in Hyderabad, the specifics of the funeral will be determined, according to Sivaji Raja, a close friend of the actor.
