Chinmayi Responds to Viral Buzz Over ‘Muththa Mazhai’: ‘I Simply Did My Job’

Since she sang the AR Rahman song Muththa Mazhai on stage at the audio release of Thug Life, Chinmayi has been in the public eye for the past several days. The audio was then made available on all streaming services after the singer, who is not permitted to perform in the Tamil business, was universally adored by his social media followers. Chinmayi has now responded to the outpouring of affection and the manner in which she handled it in an interview with News18.
Chinmayi's remarks
When asked about the response to her performance and if she had anticipated any of it, Chinmayi replied, "This isn't new." In Kadhalikka Neramillai, even Dhee sang a song, which was performed on a stage by a different vocalist. It happens every day. It was only logical that I performed the Tamil version since I had already done the Telugu and Hindi versions with Muththa Mazhai. I simply read the words and sang since I already knew the melody. I gave it little thought. I performed a task that I was given.
I was able to fulfill my assignment
The vocalist went on to say, "People are realizing that I've sung songs that they've loved for years, and they're surprised. That's fantastic in a manner. I believe I simply followed the course that the song and the writing took—if it called for a somewhat different tone, delivery, or performance from me—rather than having a strategy. I'm happy I was able to provide what I was asked at the time. Thus, in my opinion, they weren't able to establish a connection between all of these songs or from the same performer.
To the uninformed, Chinmayi was kicked out of the South Indian Cine, Television Artistes and Dubbing Artistes Union (SICTADAU) after she called out Vairamuthu for sexually abusing her and then spoke out in favor of the women who had named Radha Ravi, the head of the dubbing union. For over six years, she has been fighting the case in court.
