Immigration laws have devastated families' lives rather than criminals'; women's rights are steadily eroding; queer and trans lives are becoming more and more extinct; and gender-based violence is increasing. This is more than just a political issue; it's also a personal one, she said.

The Oscar winner replied "yeah, f*** them" when the audience cheered.
