The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa culminated with a grand tribute to one of Indian cinema’s most enduring superstars, Rajinikanth. The veteran actor, affectionately known as Thalaivar, was present at the closing ceremony to commemorate an extraordinary milestone: 50 years of his illustrious career in the film industry. Before the official tribute took place, the Rajinikanth family gathered for a treasured moment, capturing a special photograph that encapsulates the significance of the day. The veteran star was surrounded by his closest loved ones to mark this incredible professional milestone.

The family picture included his devoted wife, Latha Rajinikanth, and his daughters, Aishwarya Rajinikanth and Soundarya Rajinikanth, along with their respective families. It was Soundarya who later shared this cherished moment on her Instagram account, captioning the post simply with, "Together at @iffigoa," and adding several red heart emojis, allowing fans a glimpse into the star’s private celebration.

‘Lal Salaam’ Screening and A Daughter’s Pride

As part of the prestigious Retrospective Rajinikanth section at the festival, the film 'Lal Salaam', directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth, was screened. Rajinikanth himself attended the screening and walked the red carpet, showing full support for his daughter's work.

Aishwarya, speaking about the film and the tremendous honour bestowed upon her father, expressed her deep gratitude and pride. "As a daughter, as a director, and as a member of the film fraternity, this is a dream come true," she shared emotionally. "I am extremely thankful to God today, and I thank my team for standing by me through every hardship. Thank you all so much for your support."

She highlighted the dual significance of the event, adding, “To celebrate his 50th year, and for this film to be a part of that, is a blessing for his daughter and as a director. Thank you very much.” Her words beautifully conveyed the personal and professional fulfilment of witnessing her father’s grand career acknowledged while her own film was featured alongside his legacy.
