Following the Manhattan court's ruling in the music mogul's sex trafficking trial, New York Post said that Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura's legal team, Sean 'Diddy' Combs' ex-girlfriend, issued a formal statement.

The jury of 12 rendered a split decision on Wednesday, convicting Sean "Diddy" Combs on two counts of transportation for the purpose of prostitution. In the interim, he has been cleared of allegations of racketeering and sex trafficking.

According to her lawyers, Cassie 'left an indelible mark'.

According to the outlet, Douglas H. Wigdor, Cassie's attorney, said of the verdict that the whole criminal procedure started when Cassie displayed the "courage to file her civil complaint" in November 2023.

Although Combs was "beyond a reasonable doubt" found not guilty of sex trafficking, the attorney claimed that Cassie Ventura "paved the way" for the jury to convict him of transportation for the purpose of prostitution.

"Cassie has made an enduring impression on both the entertainment industry and the battle for justice by stepping out with her experience... Wigdor continued, "She showed unquestionable strength and brought attention to the realities of powerful men in our orbit and the misconduct that has persisted for decades without repercussion."

The lawyer continued by saying that the case has demonstrated that "change is long overdue," and that they intend to keep advocating for the victims.

Cassie's participation in the case

The singer was a key figure in the federal sex trafficking case against Sean "Diddy" Combs, whom she claimed committed alleged abuse during their on-and-off relationship between 2007 and 2018.

Cassie described in great length in her four-day testimony what she went through during her 11-year connection with Combs. She alleged that she was forced into drug-fueled sexual encounters with male escorts, which were called "freak offs," and that Combs had directed and recorded them.

Cassie remembered a couple of instances of physical abuse during the trial, including when she was kicked and stomped upon. In addition to threatening and blackmailing her, she said Combs often did so.
