Including its regional versions, Bigg Boss has been a popular television program for a number of years. However, considering the unusual circumstances that the competitors experience for days on end, it is not always easy going. On a podcast with Vijay Vikram Singh, Abhishek Mukherjee, the project head of Bigg Boss at Endemol Shine India, shared how a well-known television personality once attempted suicide on the program.

On Bigg Boss, a well-known television star attempted suicide

In the podcast, Abhishek discussed his opinion that it is only acceptable to produce material for Bigg Boss if they do not manipulate human feelings. He then remembered, without mentioning her name, how in one of the local versions of the program, an actor attempted suicide because of heartbreak.

“It so happened that in one of the regional languages, a well-reputed television actor had a breakup when she entered the show,” he stated. She joined the program for this reason: to take some time off after a terrible relationship. She has now fallen in love with someone in the house. Additionally, he betrayed her in the series. She was unable to assess that he was doing it for television. She learned that quickly.

He claimed that she attempted to commit suicide after discovering that she had been betrayed. "She wanted to kill herself at three in the morning one of the nights in Lonavala when she came to know this. She simply forgot she was on the program. We ran as soon as we discovered. Fortunately, the psychiatrist who was summoned is now on board. We had to wait and delay her until around 7 in the morning, until he arrived from Mumbai."

Regarding Big Boss

There are several TV and OTT versions of Bigg Boss, which is modeled after the Dutch reality program Big Brother. It began in Hindi and has since expanded to seven languages, including Marathi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Bengali. The Hindi version of the program is hosted by Salman Khan.
