Following reports that Abdu Rozik, a Tajik singer and social media figure, was detained at Dubai International Airport on Saturday, the crew that oversees him, S-Line Project, refuted the charges. Abdu was held, not arrested, according to a statement from the team. Additionally, it said that he was freed sometime later.

"First of all, he is not arrested, he was only detained by the police," read the S-Line Project declaration. Abdu Rozik was freed after offering his explanations. The award ceremony will take place in Dubai today, and he will be there. Secondly, the media's coverage is inaccurate. "Believe us, we have a lot to say regarding this issue," his side stated as well.

Shortly after Abdu arrived in Dubai from Montenegro over the weekend, authorities detained him at approximately 5 a.m., according to the news organization ANI. But the precise specifics of the grievance were kept under wraps.

"All we can say is that we are aware that he has been taken into custody on charges of theft," a firm official told Khaleej Times, refusing to share any more information.

Who is Rozik Abdu?

Through his music, viral videos, and reality TV appearances, like Bigg Boss 16, Abdu became well-known. He is a well-known Tajikistani singer who has performed a variety of songs, such as Modar, Chaki Chaki Boron, and Ohi Dili Zor. He performed the Hindi song Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga from the 1994 movie 1942: A Love Story at the 22nd IIFA Awards ceremony in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in 2022.

Although not listed as a suspect, he was also questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in 2024 in connection with a money laundering inquiry involving a hospitality company.
