Bharti Singh & Haarsh Speak on Financial Struggles; Reem Shaikh Highlights Plummeting TV Actor Fees

It seems the television industry is in a crisis, as several programs have been pulled from the air only a few months after they were broadcast. Haarsh Limbachiyaa and Bharti Singh discussed the challenges facing the TV industry with Reem Shaikh in their podcast, as well as how they managed to make ends meet with loans.

According to Haarsh Limbachiyaa, television is in trouble

Due to budget cuts and the fact that there are hardly any major shows like Laughter Chef being produced today that are able to survive, Haarsh believes that the "television industry is struggling." After doing Raabta and two more successful shows one after the other, Reem discussed her difficulties and confessed that she had anticipated earning between ₹1.5 and 2 lakhs. But because of budget cutbacks, her income has not kept pace with the work she has been doing over the years.

According to Bharti and Haarsh, they are making ends meet with the help of loans

"We face a similar issue," Haarsh said. People imagine that Bharti would be paid ₹50 lakhs per day and I would be paid ₹20 lakhs per day since they see me hosting a show on one channel and Bharti hosting a show on another. Not true. We are living off loans, and if we refuse the job that comes our way, someone else will. "We are so much on loans that even when the milkman comes, we think an agent has come to take the loan back," Bharti joked.

They went on to discuss how he once saw a report stating that Krushna Abhishek makes ₹35 lakh for Laughter Chef and how he phoned him to request some money. Additionally, Reem noted that while industry budgets have been cut, other costs are still very high. Many filmmakers and technicians have told Haars that they moved to YouTube because the industry has no money, and they didn't want to depend on it for their livelihood.

Reem Shaikh discloses that actors are being employed on a monthly basis

Reem disclosed that television has seen the start of a new trend in which performers are paid monthly as opposed to daily. "Actors are paid ₹50,000 a month," she stated. After that, they can make you work for 22 or 30 days, and you get paid monthly. Then, actors who do not make money through social media do experience hardship.

Reem and Bharati are presently members of Laughter Chef Season 2. The show also features Krushna Abhishek, Kashmera Shah, Rubina Dilaik, Rahul Vaidya, Aly Goni, Karan Kundrra, Elvish Yadav, Abhishek Kumar, and others, who cook various meals while simultaneously amusing the audience, while Bharti co-hosts the program alongside Chef Harpal Singh.
