BigHit Music, the group's agency, has released a statement regarding BTS member Suga just days before his social work discharge. BigHit Music stated on Weverse that "no special events are planned" for that day. The rapper is working as a social work employee, which is one option for military duty in South Korea.
BTS Agency's Statement Prior to Suga's Social Work Discharge
Although it is reported that Suga will be discharged on June 21, BigHit Music did not specify when. The message said, "Hello. This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We're thrilled to inform you about SUGA's forthcoming Social Work discharge. SUGA will soon be released after finishing his time as a Social Work Personnel. There are no specific activities scheduled for the day SUGA is discharged.
What BTS ARMY can, can't do for Suga
The agency asked BTS fans not to visit the site when Suga is discharged. "Overcrowding can pose safety risks, and we sincerely request our fans not to visit the sites in person. Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts. We are always grateful for your unwavering love and support for SUGA. Our company will continue to put our utmost effort into supporting our artists. Thank you once again for your continued love and support for BTS."
Suga's recent message for fans
Suga recently posted a voice message for his followers immediately following the BTS Festa. He said, "Hello, this is SUGA," as translated by X user @_BTSMoments_. It seems like it's been ages since I had the chance to say hello to you. ARMY, I hope you're all doing well. I've been counting the days until I see you again. I really wish you were here. I love you all." Because of a shoulder injury, Suga is completing his social service obligations. He started his social service on September 22, 2023.
Regarding BTS and their military discharge
The seven BTS members will reunite after more than 2.5 years following Suga's social service discharge. Jin, who joined the military first in December 2022, was released in June of last year. J-Hope was released in October 2024, while Namjoon, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook were released last week. Namjoon, Jin, Suga, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook all went to J-Hope's concert in Seoul recently. Only Jin and Jungkook, though, joined him on stage.
