According to Imran Khan's ex-wife, Avantika Malik, the two of them have maintained a friendly relationship since their divorce but are not truly "friends." In 2011, the couple wed, but in 2019, they broke up. On his YouTube channel, Avantika told Nayandeep Rakshit about the importance of her friendship with Imran and the reasons why she and Imran both wanted their daughter Imara to have access to both of her parents.

What Avantika stated

"I believe the real separation occurs when we say, 'Look, we spent our youth trying our best. I know we both gave it our best!'" Avantika stated during the conversation. There will come a day when it's alright to choose me if it means living apart would bring more happiness and if things have reached the point where things aren't as compatible as they used to be. It took me a long time to get over it. Not truly, though. We're not quite at the point where we can call each other friends, even if it's friendly. Someday perhaps.

Regarding co-parenting Imara

“I think for both Imran and I, we always knew we were going to do our best when it came to her (daughter Imara),” Avantika continued. On that point, we agreed. She has constant access to both of her parents. She divides her time equally between her parents. Therefore, she is aware that she hasn't lost anyone in that regard and that everyone is still present. We have made a conscious effort to shield her from the details of our divorce and attorney disputes. On that count, we were in agreement that she is loved and protected and that she is not losing anybody in her family. She is aware that she bears no culpability or remorse whatsoever.

Imran Khan and Avantika Malik were high school sweethearts. They were married and then went on several dates. On June 9, 2014, Imara Malik Khan, the daughter of Imran and Avantika, was born. According to reports, Lekha Washington is now seeing Imran.

After a decade, Imran is prepared to return to the stage. With Bhumi Pednekar, he will co-star in a love comedy.
