Despite being in the same business, actors Ashutosh Rana and Renuka Shahane have been married for more than 20 years and have never been able to collaborate on a project. Ashutosh freely acknowledges that he has always wanted to work with her, even going so far as to call himself her admirer before being her spouse.

When collaborating with Renuka

Before getting married in 2001, Renuka and Ashutosh were together for three years. They are parents to two boys: Shauryaman and Satyendra. Despite their successful careers in the entertainment sector, they have not yet worked together on a project. But Ashutosh indicates that this may soon alter, disclosing that Renuka is now writing a script with him in mind.

"I also want to collaborate with her... I also have a desire... She's such a great actress, and a writer and director of such caliber... I regard her as one of the best actors in the nation," Ashutosh informs us.

"I'm saying this not because I'm her husband, but because she's such a great actress... So I'm a fan first," he adds. With such an amazing and intelligent woman as my spouse, I feel fortunate to have had the chance to live my life with her.

The actor, who is now focused on his play Humare Ram, says that he is also waiting for the perfect opportunity to collaborate with her. "We are waiting for the right time and the right project." The fact that a project with such potential, which makes use of both of our caliber, has come our way. But rather than perform with her, I want her to guide me. She is currently writing a screenplay for me, so this could happen very soon, he claims.

Regarding his profession

He has recently been in a variety of productions, ranging from Loveyapa, Chhaava, Kaushaljis vs Kaushal, to Khakee: The Bihar Chapter. After 24 years, he made a comeback to the theater. "My journey has been more about self-discovery and getting to know myself better," the performer says when discussing his career. The path my career has taken has made me extremely pleased.

“Choose any medium—cinema, television, OTT, radio, or writing books—I have done it all. It's rare to see actors who have a presence in all media platforms these days, and I'm one of them. The actor, who will also appear in War 2, claims to be "quite happy and content" right now.

On his lasting impact

Ashutosh gained popularity for his roles in Dushman and Sangharsh, and he has since established himself in the business. However, he is not looking for any legacy for himself.

“I don't have any legacy from Ashutosh Rana, and he doesn't want to leave one behind. This is due to the fact that he is a free bird and that birds don't leave footprints since they soar through the sky. Therefore, I am just concerned with how high I fly," he concludes.
