The premiere of the first track from Anurag Basu's forthcoming musical, Metro In Dino, took place at a Mumbai cafe on Wednesday night. As the song Zamaana Lage was released, the event was attended by the entire cast and crew of the picture. Basu said on stage that he misses Irrfan Khan, who was a member of the cast of the first movie, Life In a Metro, of which this is a spiritual sequel.

Irrfan is remembered by Anurag Basu and Konkona Sen Sharma.

Metro In Dino has a terrific ensemble cast. However, just Konkona Sen Sharma is back from the first movie. In the 2007 release, she shared the stage with Irrfan Khan. “Unko bhoolne mein bhi zamaana lagega (To forget him would take an eternity),” Konkona remarked of the deceased actor, who passed away in 2020.

Anurag Basu remarked that Konkona began to weep during the production of a scene in the film because the mood was "a little similar" to a scene from the first installment, as he recalled the late actor. At the gathering, he also recalled the vocalist KK performing two of the prequel's album's most well-known songs: Alvida and O Meri Jaan.

"The mood for the scene we were filming was somewhat reminiscent of one from the first movie. All of a sudden, Konkona burst into tears, and if anyone asks about him, I'm still afraid that the same thing will occur. Basu said at the event, "We miss him; we miss KK very much, and there are many others who are missing now, with whom we collaborated earlier."

After Anurag Basu's trilogy of hyperlinked movies comes to a conclusion with Metro In Dino, which depicts life in a Metro and Ludo. The movie, which is supported by producer Bhushan Kumar, portrays a contemporary perspective on love and relationships.

Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, Neena Gupta, and Saswata Chatterjee are among the cast of the sequel. It features music by Pritam. The movie is scheduled for release on July 4, 2025.
