Amruta Subhash, an actress best known for her roles in Sacred Games and Gully Boy, just spoke out about some unsettling cases of sexual harassment she experienced in the field. In a recent interview, the actor emphasized standing up against misconduct while revealing two occurrences involving well-known figures.

Amruta remembers the time a producer made an improper advance at her

The actor described one such incident in an interview with Zoom, saying, "There was a producer of a play. I didn't even notice that perhaps my top had lifted a little bit as I was ascending some stairs. I felt a hand close to my waist. When I turned around, I saw that he was a major producer. I simply gazed at him and asked, "What did you just do? What was that?" And he simply ignored it, as if nothing had occurred. "I felt it. What was that?" I asked. Because he was such a well-known personality, everyone was taken aback. "No no, your top just moved up," he said, and I replied, "It's none of your business! How dare you touch me there? You can't do that."

Everyone else on the set was worried that Amruta would lose her job, she said. But since nobody should ever have the nerve to touch her without her consent, the actress chose to fight back.

Amruta discusses a different occurrence

In another instance, the actress talked about how she was weary of a different, well-known senior producer who would insist on drinking with her every evening. She avoided him for a while before deciding to deal with the issue squarely.

"I smashed the door open and walked inside. I was aware that I was being observed. He was taken aback. "Sir, you are my father's age," I said as I gazed into his eyes. What's wrong with you? Why are you speaking to me like this? I asked him calmly, looking straight into his eyes. He began to act strangely. Naturally, I kept the door open for my own safety as well as for his. Following that, things quieted down.

Amruta's next appearance will be in Chidiya, which also features Vinay Pathak, Svar Kamble, Ayush Pathak, Brijendra Kala, and Muzaffar Khan. The movie, which is set in a Mumbai chawl, follows the story of two young brothers who want to play badminton despite the constraints of their low-income surroundings. The film, directed by Mehran Amrohi, is scheduled for release in theaters on May 30.
