Amaal Mallik Responds to Backlash: 'No Hate, Just Misunderstood'
4 months ago | 5 Views
Singer and music director Amaal Mallik has provided an explanation for his remarks made during a recent podcast. In a statement on X (previously Twitter), Amaal stated that he "talked about my choices as an individual" rather than "against a community." However, Amaal apologized to his followers who "felt bad about certain remarks."
Regarding his recent comments, Amaal Mallik offers an explanation.
A secular mentality, according to Amaal, allows him to travel wherever he feels at ease. "You are all utterly mistaken if you come up with nice pieces and headlines about how I have spoken out against a community" (unamused face emoji). I was born to a Hindu mother and a Muslim father. "I have a secular attitude that I go wherever I find peace, whether it's a mosque, a mandir, or a church," he tweeted.
Amaal emphasizes prioritizing one's Indian identity.
"I don't think some people understand that we are all Indians first before we wear any religious or spiritual badge," he stated. "To all my fellow Indians that felt bad about certain comments I'm sorry for that, but I come from a simple understanding of life." Just remember that 'Diwali' has ALI, and 'Ramzan' has RAM, Amaal said.
Amaal said he is facing criticism
"Don't let the news blindside you and overlook my actual conversation and sentiments," Amaal said, adding that he is facing "a lot of mudslinging". Idiots on the internet are attempting to foster communal disharmony by utilizing my words from a podcast, and I'm being targeted by a lot of mudslinging. Don't succumb to it (halo face emoji). With love to everyone (red heart emoji)," he said at the end of his piece.
what Amaal had said lately
In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Amaal had revealed that his life was going through a difficult period when he was working on Kabir Singh. He had discussed his relationship, which "didn't culminate into anything," and described it as a lovely one that lasted between 2014 and 2018–2019. He also stated that she married someone else.
"It was such a pure and lovely connection," he had stated. Because of the numerous rigid, religious, and understanding reasons on the girl's side and her parents', we both realized that it might never lead to anything. And someone in Bollywood, a musician, simply didn't want that for their child.
He had continued, "I was about to do this gig when she called me and said, 'I'm just going to get married, but you come through now I'll not get married.'" But he declined, claiming that her parents do not respect or encourage his profession or family.
