Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur's dance move in the film's song "Pehla Tu" caused a stir on the social media. At the trailer launch of Son of Sardaar 2 in Mumbai, the pair joined, where Ajay finally addressed the memes surrounding his action and amused everyone with his reply.

Ajay responded, "I don't know about people," when asked about the dance step in which he and Mrunal hold hands and extend their fingers in time with the music. However, I will inform you— You are all laughing at me, but it's very hard for me to do this as well. "I don't know about others, but while you may be making fun of me, even doing this much was really difficult for me. Be thankful I managed to do that much."

The media was in splits over Ajay's reply. Mrunal added, "So, in reality, it looks quite simple, but when you do it yourself, you'll realize it's actually a huge mental workout."

Fans couldn't help but wince at the hook step of the romantic song "Pehla Tu," which featured only Ajay and Mrunal's fingers, as it was released. Numerous internet users also noted the strange location, which featured the pair's characters dancing and romancing in the midst of a cemetery.

In the film's trailer, Ajay and Mrunal are seen on a mission to arrange for someone they know to get married, which serves as the catalyst for the story's action and drama. However, numerous fans criticized the trailer for lacking the humor of Son of Sardaar and some even expressed nostalgia for Sonakshi Sinha's presence in the movie. The movie is set to hit theaters on July 25.
