Addinath Kothare Confirms Role as Bharat in Nitesh Tiwari’s Epic Ramayana Film

One of the most eagerly awaited films in recent memory is Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. The first glimpse of the film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi was revealed by Namit Malhotra earlier this month, and it captivated audiences. The role of Bharat in the legendary epic will now be performed by Marathi actor Addinath Kothare, as he has announced.

"It's a blessing," Addinath stated in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. The largest movie ever produced in India. It's also one of the largest movies produced worldwide nowadays. I am really grateful to Mukesh Chhabra for allowing me to participate. He is the man who chose me for the role of Bharat, along with Nitesh sir, of course. And also Namit Malhotra sir, who trusted in me and gave me the enormous duty of playing such a crucial role. One of Lord Ram's brothers is Bharat.
"It's one of the most well-planned cinema on Indian soil, I think," Addinath continued. We have the good fortune to see this up close. Additionally, I feel really lucky to have had the chance to work on such a large-scale picture, not only as an actor, filmmaker, or person, but also just to see the enormous scale of film production. You cannot learn this from any movie school.
A National Award-winning filmmaker and actor who works mostly in Marathi cinema is Addinath. The Royals lately featured him. Among his films are Paani, Avatarachi Goshta, Nilkanth Master, and Chandramukhi.
Regarding the Ramayana
Ramayana, which Nitesh Tiwari is directing, is planned to be a two-part movie with Part 1 hitting theaters on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in 2027. Ranbir Kapoor portrays Lord Ram, Yash plays Ravana, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman, and Sunny Deol plays Hanuman in the movie. Arun Govil, Sheeba Chadda, and Lara Dutta are among the prominent members of the ensemble cast. In the movie's score, AR Rahman works alongside the legendary Hans Zimmer, who is making his Bollywood debut.
