The incident occurred at the Tamil audio launch of Pradeep’s upcoming film, Dude, which is also being produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the banner backing the Prabhas-Hanu project. While speaking highly of the passion and dedication of his producers, Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, Pradeep seemed to unintentionally disclose the title of the Rebel Star's next big project.

Pradeep mentioned, "I don't know if I can say this, but I saw a few clippings from Prabhas sir’s 'Fauji'. Those clippings show their passion. What an extraordinary passion, sir." Realising the potential blunder mid-sentence, the actor-director quickly followed up with a sheepish apology, asking, "Did I say it by mistake, sir? Was it not supposed to be told to the public? Sorry, sir!"

Confirming the Buzz: Was 'Fauji' Always the Title?

While the on-stage apology brought a smile to faces, the damage—or rather, the revelation—was already done. The term 'Fauji' (meaning soldier) immediately resonated with fans because the film is widely reported to be a period action-drama set against the backdrop of the Indian military.

For months, ‘Fauji’ had been the most speculated and rumored title for the project, which is touted as a big-budget spectacle. The plot is rumored to be a compelling historical fiction narrative, possibly set in the pre-Independence era or the 1940s, focusing on the journey of a soldier. Given Hanu Raghavapudi's specialization in blending grand scope with intricate emotional drama (as seen in Sita Ramam), a title like 'Fauji' would perfectly align with the expected patriotic and period theme.
