He claims that Jana, the protagonist of Stree, is the closest to his childhood self, but he admits that he is currently the character in Stolen. He said the following:

According to Abhishek Banerjee, his character Jana from Stree is the most similar to his youth. Abhishek was a naive and devoted buddy to Rajkummar Rao's Vicky, much as he was in his younger years. "I was too nice a few decades ago, but Jana helps me to stay grounded and helps me to remain naive," Abhishek said to MoneyControl, confirming the same.

Abhishek Banerjee thinks that Gautam, his character in Stolen, is who he is today, even if Jana from Stree is the closest to his youth. "Gautam is the person I have felt the closest to myself. I don't believe I ever attempted to be someone else. I made an effort to be myself. Thus, everything you see, whether positive or negative, is undeniably a reflection of who I am," he stated.
