In a recent interview with Raj Shamani for his podcast, Aamir discussed his dream project, Mahabharat, which generated discussion about retirement. Aamir's upcoming endeavor

Currently, Aamir is getting ready for the premiere of his next movie, Sitaare Zameen Par. He is scheduled to portray a basketball coach in the movie who is given a team of neurodivergent youngsters to train as a kind of punishment in preparation for a competition. The film, which is a remake of the Spanish movie Campeones and features ten first-time actors—Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar—is directed by R.S. Prasanna. It is a spiritual sequel to Aamir's 2007 blockbuster Taare Zameen Par. The movie is set to hit theaters on June 20.
