As their daughter Diya graduates from high school, the happy parents, Suriya and Jyotika, are actors. Jyotika shared several images from the graduation event, highlighting how proud the family is of Diya for achieving this accomplishment.

Jyotika shared a photo of herself and Diya, with Diya sporting a blue graduation gown and cap. She sent it along with the message "Tassle worth the hassle! Proud of you girl!" In another image, Suriya is seen grinning broadly as she joins them for a photograph, obviously happy of their daughter. In addition, Jyotika shared a lot of images of Diya with her proud grandparents Sivakumar, Lakshmi, Chander Sadanah, and Seema. She used the opportunity to thank her daughter's instructors for providing her with excellent direction.

Jyotika posted another image with Suriya and then removed it, according to a fan who wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "GUYS! Jyotika posted both these stories from her daughter's graduation but Suriya has different looks, in what seems to be pictures from the same day." She quickly removed the second one. They also asked, "Did she inadvertently reveal some Singham 4 look or sumn...?" as well as "What is HAPPENING!!!"

Upcoming work

Following the disappointing Kanguva in 2024, Suriya appeared in Retro this year, which garnered mixed reviews. The movie, which was helmed by Karthik Subbaraj, drew varied reviews from viewers, but the actor's portrayal was highly praised. He has agreed to star in movies directed by Venky Atluri and RJ Balaji.

In 2023, Jyotika starred in the Malayalam film Kaathal – The Core, which received critical acclaim. Jyotika returned to Hindi film in 2024 with Shaitaan and Srikanth, then this year, she starred in the Netflix online series Dabba Cartel. She is now filming a Prime Video movie directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.
