Alia Bhatt is a confirmed admirer of Rekha! In honor of one of Rekha's legendary sari ensembles in Silsila, the actor wore a stunning pink sari to the Umrao Jaan screening. Rhea Kapoor was in charge of styling the appearance.

In homage to the look that Rekha popularized in the 1981 film Silsila, Alia wore a light-pink saree and feather earrings to the screening of Umrao Jaan. The saree was beautiful, especially when paired with dewy cosmetics and loose hair. The actor smiled and struck a posture for the photographers at the event.

As a reference for Alia's appearance, stylist Rhea Kapoor posted images of Rekha in the same attire to her Instagram Stories. "Rekha ma in Silsila has given us fashion and heartbreak refs for ages," Diet Sabya, a fashion analyst, said in a post on the style. Eons. Centuries. Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan were among the cast members of Yash Chopra's film Silsila. Over the years, Rekha's whole appearance as Chandni, as well as the film's music, have gained cult following.

In the meantime, the re-release of Umrao Jaan in theaters this Friday is highly anticipated by the audience. Under the National Film Heritage Mission, the National Film Development Corporation-National Film Archive of India restored the movie. The movie, set in the 19th century, follows Amiran (Rekha) as she enters a brothel in Lucknow and interacts with three main characters, Naseeruddin Shah, Raj Babbar, and Farooque Shaikh.

Alia is next slated to star in Love and War as well as Alpha, a YRF action picture.
