The introduction of the electric scooter iQube into the electric two-wheeler market of Southeast Asia is marked by TVS Motor Company's launch in Indonesia. On Tuesday, the Indian two-wheeler maker announced its entry into the Indonesian electric two-wheeler market with the TVS iQube, a fully electric scooter.

In its official announcement, the automobile firm's subsidiary, PT TVS Motor, stated that it has begun accepting reservations for the iQube in Indonesia at a promotional price of IDR 29.9 million, which is roughly equivalent to ₹1.6 lakh in Indian currency. Indonesia is one of the major markets for two-wheelers worldwide, and the indigenous automotive giant is trying to capture a share of the expanding electric vehicle market with the introduction of the TVS iQube. The iQube electric scooter will be produced at the PT TVS Motor Company's manufacturing plant in East Karawang, Indonesia, according to TVS Motor Company.

James Chan, Senior Vice-President ASEAN at TVS Motor Company, stated during the launch of the TVS iQube that the adoption of electric vehicles in Indonesia's two-wheeler sector has grown strongly at a CAGR of 101% over the past three years. Chan also remarked, “We are pleased to partner with the government efforts on promoting EVs with a reliable, high-quality product and attractive pricing in the form of TVS iQube,” and “We are constantly striving to develop EV capability across our sales and after-sales network to deliver a superior customer experience.”

TVS Motor Company's Vice President of EV International Business, Madhu Prakash Singh, stated that the TVS iQube has surpassed six lakh customers worldwide in this regard. He continued, "We are confident that the superior and comfortable riding experience of the TVS iQube will delight our customers in Indonesia."

The TVS iQube electric scooter has a maximum range of 115 kilometers on a full charge. The electric vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 4.2 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 78 kmph. The brand has been able to capture a portion of the Indian electric two-wheeler market, which has seen a significant increase in demand and sales in recent years, and is now dominated by startups like Ola Electric and Ather Energy, thanks in large part to the electric scooter.
