Skoda Kylaq SUV Could Launch New Variant With Petrol-CNG Powertrain Option
5 months ago | 5 Views
The Czech automaker Skoda Kylaq's product strategy has been heavily influenced by its contributions. The manufacturer has been experiencing strong interest in the Kylaq sub-compact SUV while also marketing vehicles such as the Kushaq, Slavia, and Kodiaq. Due to the high demand and several automobiles from various manufacturers, the Kylaq is located in one of the most competitive segments of the Indian passenger vehicle industry. Skoda has managed to attract price-conscious customers in the Indian market through the Kylaq, despite being recognized as a low-cost premium automobile manufacturer. The manufacturer, which is a part of the Volkswagen Group, is now contemplating adding a new model to its lineup in order to increase the allure of the Kylaq SUV.
Ashish Gupta, the Brand Director of Skoda Auto India, has told the media that the automaker may release a new model of the Kylaq. He noted that the new variation may appear later this year or in the beginning of 2026. According to him, there is room to introduce a new model, which would be placed at the bottom of the portfolio. It would broaden the choices available to customers looking to purchase a Kylaq. He also said that the firm would need around eight to nine months to introduce this version to the market. In that event, we should see the new variant join the Skoda Kodiaq range either later this year or early next year.
Interestingly, this remark occurs at a time when Gupta has said that, despite the initial increase in demand, the share of the Skoda Kylaq's higher models has been growing rapidly in the SUV's overall sales volume, while the share of the lower models has decreased.
A CNG may be available for Skoda Kylaq
The Skoda Kylaq competes in a segment with formidable opponents like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV 3XO. In addition to the traditional petrol and diesel engines, CNG is a common option in this area. Skoda is considering adding a petrol-CNG bi-fuel powertrain to the Kylaq in order to make it more attractive. The subcompact SUV's attractiveness to consumers would be increased by this. But the business made no mention of the powertrain.
