Based on the Scorpio N, a pick-up truck that was first introduced in South Africa in 2023, Mahindra is currently working on a prototype. A test mule of this future car was recently observed going through testing. Although the truck had a new grille, a shark-fin antenna, and a tailgate, it lacked production-spec lighting.

Two options are available

The prior spy shots of the vehicle, which showed that it would come in single-cab and double-cab versions, surprisingly indicated that Mahindra intended to provide a variety of configurations to meet diverse market needs. Although a formal launch schedule has not yet been revealed, it is evident that the model is being created as a global product, with intentions to launch it in a number of overseas markets.

Both vehicles will share a number of components because the new pickup truck is built upon the Scorpio N. The recognizable LED projector headlights, a striking front grille bearing the new "Twin Peaks" Mahindra logo, and a noticeable, flat bonnet are all possible elements of its front-end design. The pickup is anticipated to have a robust but contemporary design aesthetic.

The wheel selection makes a clear distinction between the two cab types. The double-cab model had simple steel wheels, but the single-cab model kept the alloy wheels from the Scorpio N. Both models had a roll bar that extended above the cabin roofline, probably added for structural stability in the event of a rollover. The manufacturing test devices seem to have halogen taillamps at the back, which look to be replacing the LED units that were on the original concept. These halogen units are similar to those on the previous Scorpio Getaway.

The concept version, which was released earlier, had a remarkable array of contemporary technologies, such as Mahindra's 4Xplore four-wheel-drive system, trailer sway control, numerous airbags, driver fatigue detection, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and 5G connection. The number of these features that will make it to the final production model remains to be seen.

The upcoming pickup truck is anticipated to have the same powertrain as currently available Mahindra SUVs. This probably consists of a 2.2-liter diesel engine and a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. A 6-speed manual transmission is anticipated to be standard, with the option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
